Early Childhood School
Early Childhood School
It is our belief that early childhood should be a time of fun, discovery, exploration, warmth, security, and celebration. Children are creative and receptive individuals. We believe that true learning occurs when discovering the why, and not the what. Our staff strives to strengthen and nurture these experiences in a stimulating, loving, and respectful environment.
We provide the highest quality secular and Judaic education to children from our Toddler & Me class through our Pre-K. Our program focuses on real world experiences by developing their interest in science, technology, religion, engineering, art and math (STREAM) through play and hands-on exploration. Literacy is built into the day by talking, reading, singing and playing to develop language skills. We support the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each child. Through executive functioning strategies, the children will discover their skills in self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-motivation, planning, and problem solving. Mindfulness will be woven throughout the day to empower the children in learning self-regulation, identifying feelings, and connecting those feelings to experiences. Our oldest learners will experience additional academic content using a developmentally appropriate, multi-sensory teaching strategy in handwriting and early math skills.
We accept children with a full range of abilities and needs. We work in partnership with families to find innovative solutions to best meet the individual needs of each child. We embrace the position of our school as the home of the children, where they are equals among their peers. We encourage their ownership of their community and celebrate their growth within their home with us.
Children of all backgrounds share in our universal values and are warmly welcomed into our school community. We strive to ensure that all families find the ECS to be a comfortable “second home.”
