Setting the Stage for Toilet Independence
Toilet Teaching and Potty Practice to Promote Your Child’s Well-Being and Strengthen the Parent-Child Relationship
Presented by Orly Zimmerman-Leizerov, LCSW-C
Toilet training can often be a source of stress, frustration, and conflict for both parents and children. But it doesn’t have to be. This empowering workshop will guide you in transforming this milestone into a positive, relationship-building experience.
We’ll explore how to reduce the tension commonly associated with "potty training" and reframe it as an opportunity to support your child’s overall well-being while deepening your parent-child connection. You’ll gain insights into the digestive system and learn to recognize the signs of readiness, helping you meet your child where they are developmentally.
Through books, play, sensory and hands-on activities, you’ll discover practical and engaging ways to introduce toileting concepts. Walk away with strategies that make the process feel more manageable—and even enjoyable—for both you and your child.

This event is co-sponsored by the Early Childhood programs of B’nai Shalom of Olney, Agudas Achim, Rosie Uran Jewish Education Center (RUJEC), Shaare Torah and Olam Tikvah.
