We are grateful that you are part of our  B’nai Shalom of Olney Community and  are looking forward to welcoming in the 5778 Jewish New Year with you and your family.

We hope that you will be able to join us this year for High Holy Day services at B'nai Shalom and look forward to sharing in all that 5778 has to offer.

Please read the information below and use this link to access the online High Holy Day form.  You can use the online system to order tickets for all services; register for babysitting; place a memorial in the Yizkor book; order Lulav and Etrog sets; participate in the parking space raffle; order Sisterhood-made kugels; and make your 5778 Chai Circle donation.

Information about the services and ticket prices is below.

Here are some important points to remember:

  • Seats for the main service will be assigned first-come, first served.  When you submit your ticket order, it will automatically receive a time and date stamp. Seats will be assigned based on this stamp. If you request to sit with another family or families, the time/date stamp for the entire group will be determined by the date and time of the latest-arriving forms.

  • On-line payments:  Payments for High Holy Day tickets and other items can be made on-line using our HHD Form.  You will have the option of paying by ACH eCheck or by credit card.  Please be aware that there will be a 2.5% service charge for payments by credit card.  If you prefer to pay by check, you need to print your completed form and mail or deliver it with your check to the synagogue office. The office will also have blank forms you can use.

  • Security: Only the lobby entrance will be open. All adults should bring a photo ID.

  • Paper option:  While we strongly encourage on-line High Holy Day orders, if you wish to complete your High Holiday orders using paper forms, please print the forms you will need here:  Main Service, Student Tickets, Yizkor Book, Kugel, Chai Circle, Lulav & Etrog, Babysitting, Parking Space Raffle, Payment Tracking Sheet.  Bring your completed forms to the BSO office along with a check made out to BSO for the full amount.

As always …

  • All synagogue financial obligations accrued through June 30, 2017, must be paid (or an arrangement made with your financial secretary) to order tickets.  All obligations accrued through September 30, 2017, must be paid (or an arrangement made with your financial secretary) to receive your tickets.

  • Overflow parking will be available at the Refuge Church of Christ (across 108 from BSO) on the two days of Rosh Hashanah and on Yom Kippur day.

  • Student services (both days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur day) are free for members’ children. Youngsters holding tickets for these services are welcome to sit in empty seats in the main service before youth services begin and after they are finished.

  • Professional babysitters for children ages 2-5 will be available at the synagogue on both days of Rosh Hashanah from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and on Yom Kippur day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Only pre-paid and pre-registered children will be accepted into babysitting. No walk-ins will be permitted.

  • In observance of the High Holy Days and in consideration of fellow congregants, please do not use any electronics (phones, pagers, iPods, hand-held games, etc.) in the synagogue building. Parents, please ensure that your children and teens abide by this rule.
