Nursery SchoolPresentations from the NAEYC Conference, Washington, DC - December 2005
Our School B’nai Shalom of Olney Nursery School opened its doors in September 1993. Its philosophy is to provide a warm, loving Jewish environment where each child feels secure and happy and where learning is meaningful and fun. The staff recognizes the uniqueness of each child and will provide experiences that are relevant to each child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs. The Nursery School program is offered to Two through Five Year Olds and Kindergarten age children. There is also a weekly Moms and Tots Program for parent and child to attend for ages 15 months to age two. Children may participate in this program with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver. This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce your young child to our Nursery School and Synagogue. Some of the other programs that are available are: Early Arrival, Afternoon Enrichment, Lunch Bunch, and Tot Shabbats. There is an active Parents Association that provides programs for children and parents, fundraising, as well as social activities and support for parents. B’nai Shalom of Olney Nursery School has been continually awarded accreditation by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, NAEYC. They have also received Commendation in Jewish Early Childhood Education from the Greater Washington Board of Jewish Education. The USCJ recently awarded the school a silver award for excellence in Early Childhood Education. The Nursery School has a Private Educational Institution License and is certified by the State of Maryland, Department of Education. They are affiliated with the Greater Washington Board of Jewish Education (BJE) and the Center For more information,
