TOWN HALL MEETINGS

• Monday, February 8 @ 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 9 @ 11:00 a.m. - EMERGENCY TOWN HALL MEETING - The purpose of the meeting is to discuss BSO’s current financial condition and the proposals that are being discussed to address our financial needs for the balance of the fiscal year.

HAZAK

• Wednesday, February 17 @ 1;15 p.m. - Hazak members will really get into the twenty first century at this month's meeting -- Debbie Kovalsky will give a talk entitled, "Mind the Technology Generation Gap". She will discuss the evolution of technology in terms of communication and social interaction from the last century to today. While gadgets have gotten smaller, smarter and cheaper - they are only a means to the basic human need to develop relationships with others, expand our understanding of the world we live in and enhance our lives. Please join us for this timely talk. Hazak will be doing something fun the third Wednesday of every month!!

INCLUSION COMMITTEE

• Weekend of 2/19-2/20: Disability Awareness Shabbat. Join us for Friday night, Sat Services and Kiddush Conversation with Dr Dan Gottlieb. Dr. Dan Gottlieb, a Philadelphia-area psychologist and father of congregant Debra Ewing, as speaker. He became paralyzed after a near fatal car accident as a young man. He has used his disability to be an inspiration to other people with disabilities. Among his many accomplishments, he hosts an award-winning show on mental health “Voices in the Family” and has written 4 books, most recently “Learning from the Heart: Lessons on Living, Loving and Listening". • The Purim Carnival is rapidly approaching and BSO is going all out this year!!  All the information is now on the BSO website, including the link to the Purim flyers.  Would your family like to sponsor a booth?  It’s $50 per booth and how cool would it be to have your name in lights?!!  Well, maybe not lights, but on a really big sign…like, “The Horowitz Family Haman Toss” – cool, right?!! [info for all Purim]

• The BSO inclement weather policy follows Montgomery County public schools during the week.  On the weekends, we make our own decisions!

NURSERY SCHOOL                                              

• Tot Shabbat for February has been rescheduled for February 20th.

• Brooke Grove – our 3’s will visit Brooke Grove, on Friday, February 26th.  Permission slips will go home on Monday, February 8th.  We love to have parents join us!

• Purim Sing-a-Long:  We look forward to having you join your children for a wonderful sing-a-long morning on Wednesday, February 24th, 9:30 – 10:00 a.m.
