SummerTime Adult Education Classes - two sessions offered

• Session One - Thursdays, July 16 and July 23 @ 11:00 a.m.
• Session Two: Tuesdays - July 14, July 21 and July 28 @ 8:00 p.m.

"The Covenant of Our Mothers" - The matriarch's contribution to our lasting covenant -- This class will focus on our matriarchs and their significant contributions towards the realization of the covenant promised to our forefathers. We will take a closer look at the matriarch's role in the covenantal stories of Genesis. The class will be focused on the text in Genesis as well as the contributions and opinions of classical and modern commentators. This class will be taught by our Rabbinic Intern, Dani Gobuty.

Sisterhood

BSO Israel Adventure 2010

• Tuesday, August 11 @ 7:00 p.m. -We have gotten a very positive initial response to BSO's proposed summer 2010 trip to Israel! We will be having an informational meeting with representatives from our tour planners at ITC (Israel Tour Connection). That evening we will get an initial sense of itinerary and pricing and have a chance to ask any questions you may have about details of the trip. Please RSVP to Roni if you are planning on attending that night or if you can’t make it but still may be interested in the trip.

High Holy Day Seat Assignment Lottery

High Holiday packets have been mailed.   If you have not received one please call the synagogue office to have one sent to you.  The deadline to turn in your order forms to be included in the lottery is by the close of business on Monday, August 4th. You must be in good financial standing in order to participate in the lottery.

Nursery School

• Thursday, August 6 @ 2:00 p.m. - Our new Director, Renee Stadd, will officially begin on August 3rd.  One of the first things she would like to do is meet you and your children!  So, we are cordially inviting you to attend an informal "Ice Pops and Introductions".  Please stop by with (or without) your child(ren) to meet Renee and to help us welcome her to our community. Hope to see you there!

JSSA’S SYNAGOGUE LIAISON PROGRAM AT  BSO

• Ongoing - Every other Thursday between 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - Leslie Kessler, a licensed professional social worker who works at JSSA's Department of Aging, will be on site at B'nai Shalom every other Thursday starting on May 7th. You are welcome to drop in or call the synagogue office to make an appointment. Please bring issues that you want to discuss, or just come in and say hi so she can get to know you.

Membership Drive

B'nai Shalom of Olney is holding a Membership Drive. We have a couple of very exciting incentives that we offering right now:

• $200 referral Fee - Current Members can receive a $200 Referral Fee credited to their account if their family or friends join B'nai Shalom of Olney.  New Member applications must contain the name of the referring member.
• Two for One - NEW Senior Members (Age 65+) - join B'nai Shalom of Olney and receive your first TWO years of membership for the price of ONE year.
• Two for One - Currently Enrolled or Families New to Our Nursery School join B'nai Shalom of Olney and receive your first TWO years of membership for the price of ONE year, PLUS receive reduced member tuition rates for your children in the nursery and religious schools.
