ADULT EDUCATION OFFERINGS

• The Tuesday evening, Back to Basics Judaism Class will meet this Tuesday, 5/8 - Newcomers welcome and NEW topics to be covered
• The Etz Hayim Bible Brunch, Thursday mornings at 11:00am, offers a new essay each week. As a result drop-ins are ALWAYS welcome. Come to as many or as few as you can fit into your schedule. This week's Etz Hayim Essay is <i>Medieval and Modern Halakhah</i>
• Tefilah Tidbits, taught by Rabbi Ari Sunshine, Last Shabbat Morning of the month Saturday, 5/26 Drop ins welcome
• Adult Hebrew with Jill Epstein, Thursday evenings

END OF THE YEAR PICNIC

Correction to page 5 in the newsletter: The item mentioning the Bark Mitzvah on June 3 from 1-3 p.m. has been moved to the fall (date to be determined). We didn’t think it would be befitting of a picnic to have dogs eating hamburgers off of our blankets. The June 3rd date is still accurate, but it will be a Congregational Picnic, where the only dogs will be in buns with ketchup and mustard. Look for the flyer soon!

YOUTH DEPARTMENT

• A note to all youth members and parents:
  When you come to BSO for a youth event, please look on the youth lounge bulletin board or in the new hanging folders on the walls for your information. While Mrs. Epstein loves all of her students and families, it’s so busy in the religious school office on Sunday mornings and she needs to focus her attention on you and your learning! If you have a question that needs immediate attention, you can find contact numbers on the youth board for the event that day. Thank you for your cooperation!

  • May 13 – USY is selling flowers for Mother’s Day! Bring your dollars and your love for your momma to BSO on Sunday morning to buy flowers!!
  • May 20, USY is going Go-Karting! We will take some spins around the track, have some food, and have a blast! Look for a flyer in the next week.
• Kadima
  • We are still watching American Idol in the youth lounge every Tuesday night from 8-9 p.m. – where are YOU? We want you to come and hang out with us while we watch some soar to stardom and some sink like ships! J Call Mara for more info.
• Machar
  • May 6 – 3rd graders in Machar are inviting 2nd graders in Bonim to come mini golfing from 10:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.! Get a chance to see what Machar is really like, so you can get psyched for some great programs next year! Third graders, come out and play after Hebrew School and try for that Hole in One!!! See attached flyers for details.
  • Also on May 6, 4th and 5th graders in Machar are going to Shadowland Laser Tag Adventures for an evening of laser tag followed by a trip down the road for pizza at Pizza Hut! See attached flyer for details.

MAH JONG MORNINGS

Every Thursday morning at 9:30am, join us to play Mah Jong. All level players are welcome, we will even teach beginners how to play.
