YOUTH DEPARTMENT
- Machar is hosting a booth at the Purim Carnival on Sunday, March 4th making Mishloach Manot, our USY Chapter will be sponsoring the Mini-Hoops Game at the Carnival. Stop by and join your friends! Wear your COSTUMES!
- Attention Kadimaniks! Come to the youth lounge every Tuesday night from 8-9 pm to watch American Idol! Eat snacks, hang out with friends and sing your hearts out with the contestants! No RSVP necessary, just yourselves!!!
- Due to weather on Sunday, February 25, the Kadima Siddur Decorating event was rescheduled for Tuesday, March 6 from 7:30-9:00 p.m. There is still room if you couldn’t go before and you can now! Contact Randi Engel at Kadima@bnaishalomofolney.org if you are interested. Hurry up, the spots are filling up fast!
- The monthly bagel sale was cancelled due to snow on February 25. We will be selling them on March 25 from 10:30-11, between Hebrew school sessions. Come and have a nosh!
- USY is going Cosmic Bowling on Saturday night, March 31. Email Aaron at novaklown@hotmail.com for more details!
- USY is busy preparing for the Chocolate Seder on March 25th for all the Youth Groups! Stay tuned for more details…
- Kadima Kallah, March 9-11th for Sixth through Eighth Graders - Spring Kadima Kallah is a time for 6th and 7th graders from all over the Seaboard Region (including Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and Washington, D.C.) to get together and make new friends, participate in fun games and activities, experience Judaism and have a fantastic time
- If you haven’t joined a youth group yet, it’s not too late! You get to develop a close-knit group of Jewish friends your age, member rates on all programs, and the chance to be a leader in USY someday! March 3: We need 1-2 people to help hand out Hamantashen as folks - of all ages - leave services from around 7:30 pm - about 9:00 pm
March 4: We need 2-3 people per shift to help sell hamantashen at the Purim Carnival which is at BSO this year. There are 2 shifts: 10:00 am - 12:30 pm and 12:30 - 2:30 pm (or earlier if we sell all our hamantashen)
- March 15th and March 22nd - Luncheon Tuna/Egg Salad and Table Setup
We need help in the kitchen from 2-4 people from 8:00 pm - about 9:30 pm either helping to make tuna fish and egg salad or helping set tables and taking out equipment and paper goods that will be used on Saturday.
- April 3 - BSO's Second Seder
BSO is holding a Community Second Seder on Tuesday, April 3rd. Plans are just being worked on now, the congregation will need some help setting up, serving, and with clean-up. So, if you are thinking of attending and would be willing to help, or you have some time before your own seder to help, contact Helene Rosenheim.
- We are looking for 1-2 people who would be willing to come in, on an as-needed basis to make Jello Molds for Kiddush Luncheons. One person can do it, but its more fun with 2.
