    YOUTH DEPARTMENT

    OPENING THE GATES OF TORAH

    I urge you to attend this 4th annual conference on welcoming all interested people, including those with special needs, in worship and other activities of our congregation. Will be held at Adas Israel Congregation, located two blocks from Cleveland Park metro station in Washington, DC. REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS NOVEMBER 20th. Keynote speaker is Rabbi Bradley Artson, Dean of Rabbinic Studies and Vice President of the University of Judaism in California. I am told he is a terrific speaker --and here is your chance to learn from him right at home. In addition to delivering the keynote address Rabbi Artson will lead two of the working sessions, one of which will inform Rabbis, Cantors, and Executive Directors how we can meet the specific needs of people with disabilities and their families. Other sessions on a variety of topics, including Bar and Bat Mitzvah and religious school programs for children with special needs and programs for teens.
