ADULT EDUCATION - ME'AH AT B'NAI SHALOM OF OLNEY
Baltimore Hebrew University is the Maryland home of Me’ah, an outstanding adult educational experience. Me’ah offers its adult students not only an opportunity to grow as a literate student of Jewish life, but this program also extends to you an extraordinary opportunity to join a growing community of learners and leaders. This is a true journey of discovery considering such questions as: Who am I? What is my history? How did the religion and culture develop and what does it mean to me? Now is the time to invest in your own education, and the Me’ah program is the perfect venue. We do hope you will be able to join us at B’nai Shalom of Olney and experience this exceptional program first hand. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings beginning October 3rd. You will learn of these at this meeting. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Elaine Eckstein at 410.587.6905.

Join a Havurah
Whether you are a new member of BSO or have been in our family for years, we welcome your involvement in this special program. A Havurah is more than a social, prayer or service group. Friends within a Havurah, create a special connection to each other by sharing a more intense experience within our synagogue life. Sharing both the joyous and sad moments of life, the members of a Havurah truly become your extended family at BSO. Sharing these experiences create a community within a community or families within a family. [Download an Application]
We are also trying to compile a contact list for all the existing Havurot. Please send your current 'roster' and any requests for more information to Sharon Agranov sharona@prestongates.com
HAZAK - "USY FOR OUR MATURE MEMBERS"
HAZAK is planning a Hike at Catoctin National Park followed by a visit to Pryors Orchard and nearby gift shops on Monday, October 16. The day will end with an early dinner at the Cozy Restaurant. Although the group plans to walk on the road surface rather than on paths through the woods, anyone interested may take the trails. The group will meet at the ranger station at 10 a.m. Allow about 1 1/2 hours driving time from Olney to the ranger station.. In case of rain, the hike will be cancelled but dinner will still be scheduled for 3 p.m. * Please call Harvey/Judy Peritt before September 27 to RSVP, for directions to Catoctin, to arrange carpools, and for restaurant reservations.
