Tsunami
Relief
We have all been shocked by reports of the disaster in Asia caused
by the tsunamis. The death toll climbs daily and the devastation
is staggering and overwhelming. There is obviously much need for
supplies and personnel to initiate relief efforts, help the survivors,
and contribute to the rebuilding of those areas. This is a time
when we need to encourage our members to open their hearts and their
wallets. To direct their efforts, I suggest that we promote the
following three agencies that have pledged to help.
The American Jewish World Service

And, of course, if your local federation is collecting funds, we should definitely support them as well.
The Federation has created a disaster relief fund for the victims of the an earthquake of epic power that struck deep beneath the Indian Ocean on Sunday, unleashing 20-foot tidal waves that ravaged coasts across thousands of miles, killed more than 20,000 people and left millions homeless in the fourth-largest tremor in a century.
