Religious School

Grades 3-7 started religious school this week quite successfully. We are looking forward to a wonderful year!

Grades K-2 begins on Sunday. Class lists will be posted in the entryway of the school wing.

There is a change to the Religious School calendar. Religious School is closed Erev Sukkot on Wednesday, September 29. Please adjust your calendars accordingly.

Back to school night for Grades 3-7 is Tuesday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m.

Grades K-2 Open House is Sunday, October 3, during regular class time.

The first Junior Congregation is Saturday, October 2 from 9:30-11:30. It will be followed by Kids Konversation at 11:45. Kids Konversation is a "Light Lunch and Learn" discussion with Jill Epstein.

Our Rescued Torah Fund has reached approximately $5600.00. Our goal is $10,000.00. The Torah is in the process of being refurbished and will be used at our Junior Congregation services. If you would like to contribute, please send in your donation to the Religious School and mark the envelope "Rescued Torah Fund". To those of you who made a contribution, TODAH RABAH!

Lulav and Etrog Sales

B'nai Shalom of Olney is taking Lulav and Etrog orders for Sukkot. Orders are due September 26th. Order forms are available online.

 

Kiddush Konversation

Join us after Shabbat morning services for lunch and Kiddush Konversation. The program for October 2 will be Growing Up Jewish in India.

Nursery School Boutique

The B'nai Shalom of Olney Nursery School will hold its Eleventh Annual Fall Boutique and Silent Auction on Sunday, November 14, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This fabulous boutique will feature over 60 vendors with unique merchandise such as jewelry, toys, apparel, holiday gift ideas and home accessories. Also featured are a silent auction, themed raffle baskets and free gift wrapping. The event will take place at the Longwood Community Recreation Center located at 19300 Georgia Avenue in Brookeville, about one mile north of Route 108. For more information call 301-260-1406. Admission is free and open to all.

    The Kadima rock-climbing event is currently being rescheduled. most likely for the last Sunday in September, so keep your eyes open.
