Weekly Highlights & Schedule of Services
[Events in green will occur before the next Shabbat.]

  • Our Friday night Family Birthday and Anniversary Service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday morning services begin at 9:00 a.m. B'nai Mitzvah of Brandon Metro and Randy Sloane
  • Mincha/Maariv/Havdallah service will begin at 6:45 p.m., we will celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of Jonas DeHudy
  • Sunday morning minyan 8:45 a.m. [Note new time]
  • Evening Minyan, Monday-Thursday 7:30 p.m. in the Shuman Family Chapel
  • 9:00 a.m. - Monday Morning Minyan - Federal Holiday/Labor Day
  • On Thursday 9/9 and Friday 9/10, the Nursery School Program will begin. Come join us as we welcome the parents of our students at our Annual Boo Hoo Breakfast. This is a great way to meet the future generation of BSO! Meet in the Social Hall at 9:45 am.

High Holiday Tickets

You can still purchase tickets, for the B Service for High Holidays. Any questions can be directed at highholidays@bnaishalomofolney.org or the synagogue office at (301)774-0879. There is more information and order forms on the web at www.bnaishalomofolney.org

Religious School

Religious school begins September 7 for Tuesday students (Grades 3-7) and September 8 (Grades 3-7) for Wednesday students. The first Sunday for all students grades K-7 is Sunday, September 12. All parents must come into the building to pick up their child/carpool at all times.

Post cards for registered students in grades K-2 were mailed confirming the day(s) your child is attending school. Class lists with teacher name and room number will be posted during the first day of school.

Back to School Night for grades 3-7 is Tuesday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m.
Open House for grades K-2 is Sunday, October 3. More information will follow at a later date.

Lulav and Etrog Sales

B'nai Shalom of Olney is taking Lulav and Etrog orders for Sukkot. Orders are due September 26th. Order forms are available online.

 

Kiddush Konversation

Join us after Shabbat morning services for lunch and Kiddush Konversation. The program for October 2 will be Growing Up Jewish in India.

Nursery School Boutique

The B'nai Shalom of Olney Nursery School will hold its Eleventh Annual Fall Boutique and Silent Auction on Sunday, November 14, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. This fabulous boutique will feature over 60 vendors with unique merchandise such as jewelry, toys, apparel, holiday gift ideas and home accessories. Also featured are a silent auction, themed raffle baskets and free gift wrapping. The event will take place at the Longwood Community Recreation Center located at 19300 Georgia Avenue in Brookeville, about one mile north of Route 108. For more information call 301-260-1406. Admission is free and open to all.

Choir Updates

Upcoming rehearsals are Thursday, September 9th at 6:45pm for the Kids' Choir and Thursday, September 9th at 8:00pm for the Adult Choir. Both are held at BSO. Do you have questions about the choir? Ask Cantor Geller, cantor.geller@bnaishalomofolney.org

  • THE YOUTH LOUNGE IS OPEN!

    Come by to listen to some music, hang out have a snack, or play X-Box. Our couch is comfy, and so is the rug, so feel free to stop by and say hello
