WELCOME!!

B'nai Shalom welcomes Shelley Engel as our new Executive Director. Shelley started work on July 6th and would love to have you come by and introduce yourself!

Shelley lives in Columbia, Maryland, with her husband and two high-school-age daughters. Her family attends Beth Shalom Congregation in Columbia.

Most recently, Shelley spent six years as the Administrator of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism. Her experience with budgets, accounting, bookkeeping, building and systems maintenance and staff supervision has prepared her for her new responsibilities at BSO.

Shelley graduated from The University of Maryland, in management and consumer studies and has served on Beth Shalom's Synagogue Board, both as the Sisterhood Treasurer, and as President of Bet Yeladim Preschool.

We are thrilled to have her here on a fulltime basis and look forward to working with her. If you need to contact Shelley, you can email her at Shelley.Engel@bnaishalomofolney.org

High Holiday Tickets

Letters have been received by our members regarding the new High Holiday ticket distribution system. The High Holiday worship services this year will take place at B'nai Shalom of Olney. Please read through the information and remember to return your ticket order forms by August 9th to ensure that you will be entered in the first round of service and seat assignments. Any questions can be directed at highholidays@bnaishalomofolney.org or the synagogue office at (301)774-0879. There is more information and order forms on the web at www.bnaishalomofolney.org

Maccabi Games

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. The JCC Maccabi Games staff just wanted to say how happy we are that some of your synagogue members will be a part of the JCC of Greater Washington’s delegation.

The Games are still in need of volunteers and host families. And if your congregants are so inclined, please have them visit our website at www.jccgwmaccabi.org and follow the links, or go directly to the online registration page at www.jccreg.com.

Some synagogues have contacted us to place a congratulatory advertisement in our ad book, and so we are offering you the same opportunity. We are enclosing a list of your member-participants as of June 7 as well as the ad book reservation form. If you have any questions about ads, please contact Steve Carver at 301-881-0100, ext. 2777.

We have extended the deadline for congregations to respond to Weds., June 23.
