Mazel Tov to Carol Croll and her
entire Nursery School staff!
BSO's Nursery School has received "Commendation in Jewish
Early Childhood Education" by the Greater Washington Board
of Jewish Education. Dr. Fineberg said, that the "committee
was very impressed with our school." I know how hard all of
you worked to receive this Commendation and how everyone at B'nai
Shalom of
Olney takes pride in this great achievement!

join us for the CUTEST Shabbat Program on Friday, April
30th at 6:45. Rabbi Pohl and Cantor Geller will lead
our youngsters in a service that will leave 'that Shabbat Feeling
deep in our heart'. Don't miss an opportunity to k'vel over
your children.

Night Shabbat Service will begin at 7:30pm
- Our Shabbat
morning service will begin at 9:00 a.m.
- Junior
Congregation will begin at 9:30am and continue with Kids Konversation
at 11:45am.
- Our Shabbat
Minha-Ma-ariv Havdalah service will begin at 7:15 p.m.
During the service we will celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of Joshua
Fellman.

Erect an Eruv
- Plans
to erect an "eruv" that will include Bnai Shalom and
the neighboring residences is a reality. All of the necessary
permission from the various government agencies has been secured,
and the Olney/Brookeville Jewish community is ready to begin
construction. We are hoping to get started as soon as this Sunday,
May 2, at 1:00 PM. You are invited to join us in the
Reddy Branch Park, affixing uprights to some trees in the forest,
and running a chord along their top. We are looking particularly
for people who are not afraid to climb a ladder or get their
shoes muddy. Those interested should call Rabbi Rapapport at

- Seaboard
Branch celebrates
its 59th
year with its Annual Conference May 2-3. Here is a chance
to meet with Sisterhood members from DC, Maryland, Virginia and
North Carolina
at the Pearlstone
Center in Reisterstown. For more information or to register contact

at the 2004 Election and Appreciation Celebration Wednesday

- Religious School
- The last
two junior
congregations for the school year are May
1 and May 8 at 9:30
a.m. in Rooms 13, 14, and 15. They will be
followed
by Kids Konversation at 11:45.
- Grade 3 will be participating in their class
Haggigat Siddur Ceremony at 7:30 on May 7th. A tear-off form
was sent home that was to be returned to the religious school
office with a $30.00 check for their siddur. There is an additional
$5.00 fee if a book sock cover is needed. If you want to make
your own book cover, we have instructions available in the religious
school office.
Volunteers (other than third grade parents) are needed to help
serve and clean up at the 3rd grade service on Friday, May 7
from 7:30-9:30. If you can help, please call the religious school
office at 301-774-9323.
- Grade 4 will
have their Bet class "Weddings" on Sunday, May
2. Information letters were sent home and a tear-off
form is due back in the religious school office April 25.
- Grade
5 (NOT Grade 6) will
be participating in the "An
Israel Happening" field
trip on Sunday, May 2 to the Melvin Berman Academy.
We depart at 9:45 and return by 1:00. Please plan on picking
up your children
at 1:00pm. A permission slip was sent home and was due back to
the religious school
office
with
$10.00
by April
25.
- The last Upper School class is Wednesday,
May 12. (Grades 8-10)
- Confirmation
for 10th grade is Friday, May 14th at 7:30pm.
- The last
day of
Religious School is May 18th for Tuesday students and May
19th for Wednesday students.
- Registration packets for next year will be mailed
next week.
