Services
- Our Second
Grade Friday night Shabbat service will begin
at 7:30 PM.
- Our
Shabbat morning service begins at 9:00AM. We
will celebrate with the families of Sara Putterman and Erika
Weiss as
they become B'not Mitzvah. Mazel Tov!
- Our
Shabbat Minha service will begin at 5:30 PM. Julie
Oxman will
be called to the Torah as she becomes a Bat Mitzvah. Mazel Tov!
- Junior
Congregation followed by Kids Konversation begins at 9:30am.
- Sunday
Morning Minyan will begin at 8:45am.

Chadash Presents - New
Generation for BSO's 20-Something Crowd
Yaron Peleg, PhD, Co-ordinator of the Hebrew Language Program at The George Washington
University
Professor
Peleg will be doing a presentation on Tuesday, March
23rd at 8:00pm at BSO,
on the current conflict with Palestinians as seen through modern
Israeli cinema. It is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.

- Musical Kabbat
Shabbat Service
If you missed the last one, make sure you are at BSO on Friday,
March 26th for a beautiful, participatory musical Kabbalat Shabbat. Cantor
Geller leads the Kids, Teens and Adult Choirs accompanied by several
congregants. You will begin your Shabbat with a wonderful feeling
of Ruach in your Heart.

- Religious School
- Passover University
is Sunday, March 28th. The schedule is as follows:
- 8:30-9:30
Minyan/Opening -Sanctuary
- 9:30-10:25 Registration/Continental Breakfast
- 10:30-11:25 Session 1
- 11:35-12:30 Session 2
Grades K-2 must sign up for at least one class and
be accompanied by an adult
for that class.
Grades 3-7 must sign up for two classes and be accompanied
by an adult. However, the adult may take a different class
than
the student. Many
classes are already
filled. If you have not turned in your registration forms,
please bring them to school on Sunday.

For our congregants who do not have school age children,
there are several classes geared for adults that
you to take advantage
of. Please
pick up a registration
form from the religious school office, in the
school wing, or on BSO's
website. If you have any questions,
call the
religious school office
at 301-774-9323.
- The next Junior
Congregation Service is Saturday,
March 20 at 9:30 in Room
13, 14, and 15. They will be followed by Kids Konversation
at 11:45.
- Friday, March 19, Grade
2 will be participating in Friday
night services at 7:30 p.m. A letter was sent home a
few days ago and
the RSVP tear-off is due in the Religious School office
on March 15th.
- Grade
3 is going to the matzah factory Sunday, March 21. Students should
be at BSO at 8:20 am for an 8:30 departure. We will be back at
BSO at 10:30 for pick-up. Students who wish to purchase shmurah
matzo ($16.50 per pound) from Chabad must bring $16.50 in cash
or a check payable to Chabad the morning of the trip. BSO is
not responsible for any lost checks or cash.
- Joe Corbi Pizza and Cookie Sale information was sent home and
placed in the synagogue newsletter. This is a major fundraiser
for the Religious School and Nursery School. All orders must
be turned into the religious school by April 8th. Additional
order forms are available in the Religious School office.
- Grade 7 Class
Service is Sunday, April 18th. at 8:45 am. This
service will be a Tallit and Tefillin service and commemorate Yom
Hashoah. There will be a rehearsal for all 7th graders on Wednesday,
April 14th, (our first day back from vacation) during regular class
hours. Tuesday students are required to attend this rehearsal.
A letter with a tear-off was sent home and should be returned to
the religious school office by April 3.
- Spring
Break is April 4- April 13th. Religious School will be closed.
Religious School resumes on April 14th.
- Youth Programs - All events are FREE
to Youth Group Members
- BSO's Art Auction is
coming on April 3rd. This was rescheduled from the
snow cancellation earlier in the winter. We hope you will be able
to join us for an evening
of food, friends and fabulous art. Read more about it.
