  • Weekly Highlights & Schedule of Services
    • Our Friday night Shabbat service will begin at 7:30 PM.
    • Our Shabbat morning service begins at 9:00AM. We will celebrate with the families of Joshua Gale and Mark Wasserman as they become B'nai Mitzvah.
    • Our Shabbat Minha service will begin at 5:30 PM. Matthew Osborne will be called to the Torah as he becomes a Bar Mitzvah.
    • Junior Congregation followed by Kids Konversation begins at 9:30am.
    • Sunday Morning Minyan will begin at 8:45am.
    • Monday-Thursday Minyan at 7:30pm

  • Sisterhood
  • Choir Rehearsal Schedule:
    Teen Choir: March 16, 30
    Adult Choir: March 16, and Thursday, March 25.
    New singers still welcome!

  • Have you ever been to a Chocolate Seder? Join the Sisterhood on Monday evening, March 22nd as we boost our energy level in order to retell the story of the Exodus from Egypt! Contact Linda Levine.

  • Religious School
    • Thank you to everyone to volunteered their assistance at the Purim Carnival. It was greatly appreciated.
    • All Passover University registration forms are due in the Religious School office on March 11. Classes are filled on a first come first served basis with some classes already filled. Students in Grades K-2 are required to attend at least 1 class with an adult. Students in grades 3-7 are required to attend with an adult, however the adult may take a different class than the student. If you have any questions, please call the Religious School office at 301-774-9323.
    • The next Junior Congregation Service is Saturday, March 13 and Saturday, March 20 at 9:30 in Room 13, 14, and 15. They will be followed by Kids Konversation at 11:45.
    • Sunday, March 14, the Kindergarten class will be participating in a Shabbat workshop with Mrs. Epstein and Mrs. Skolnik during regular class time.
    • Friday, March 19, Grade 2 will be participating in Friday night services at 7:30 p.m. A letter was sent home a few days ago and the RSVP tear-off is due in the Religious School office on March 15th.
    • Sunday , March 21, the Aleph classes will be going to the Matzah Factory. A letter was sent home a few days ago with a RSVP tear-off due to the Religious School office on March 17th.
    • Joe Corbi Pizza and Cookie Sale information was sent home and placed in the synagogue newsletter. This is a major fundraiser for the Religious School and Nursery School. All orders must be turned into the religious school by April 8th. Additional order forms are available in the Religious School office.
    • Jewish National Fund Tree Certificates are due by March 14th to the Religious School office.
    • Spring Break is April 4- April 13th. Religious School will be closed. Religious School resumes on April 14th.

  • Passover University
    Passover University Catalogs were sent home with the students on February 29th. Grades K-2 are required to attend at least one session with a parent (or another adult relative). Grades 3-7 are required to attend both sessions with at least one parent (or another adult relative). The schedule for the day is as follows:

    8:30-9:30 MINYAN/OPENING
    9:30-10:25 REGISTRATION/CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST
    10:30-11:25 FIRST SESSION
    11:35-12:30 SECOND SESSION

    Registration forms are due in the Religious School Office by March 11th. If you would like a catalog, they are available online. or at the RS Office. In addition registration forms can also be found at www.bnaishalomofolney.org/flyers/registration_pu.pdf. Classes will be filled on a first come first served basis.   • Dor Chadash Presents
    Yaron Peleg, PhD, Co-ordinator of the Hebrew Language Program at The George Washington University

    Professor Peleg will be doing a presentation on Tuesday, March 23rd at 8:00pm, on the current conflict with Palestinians as seen through modern Israeli cinema. It is free and open to anyone who wishes to attend.

  • BSO's Art Auction is coming on April 3rd. This was rescheduled from the snow cancellation earlier in the winter. We hope you will be able to join us for an evening of food, friends and fabulous art. Read more about it.
