  • NEEDED: Your B'nai Shalom of Olney Memories in Photos. If you have any photos related to activities at BSO over the years, we'd like to use copies of them for a special presentation during the Dedication Weekend, April 23-25.   • Weekly Highlights & Schedule of Services
    • Our Friday night Board Installation Shabbat service will begin at 7:30 PM.
    • Shabbat Morning Services
      • Main Service: 9:15 AM (next Shabbat morning we revert to the 9:00 AM service starting time).
      • Gan Shabbat at 10:45 AM
      • Junior Congregation 9:30-11:30 followed by Kids Konversation
    • Our Shabbat Minha/Ma-ariv/Havdalah service will begin at 5:00 PM. During this service we will celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of Michael Kaplan. Mazel Tov!
    • Our service on Sunday morning, February 22 will begin at 8:45 AM.
    • Monday-Thursday Minyan at 7:30pm

  • The Town Hall Meeting and Dessert Reception
    Congregation B’nai Shalom of Olney will join with other area synagogues for a very special Maryland/Washington communal event presented by The Jewish Theological Seminary on Sunday, February 29, at B’nai Israel of Rockville. BSO's Past President, Naomi Yadin-Mendick is to honored. More Info

  • Sisterhood
    • Dor L'Dor - Sisterhood Cookbook is coming! Submit to our online version now! http://www.bnaishalomofolney.org/cookbook.php
    • February 22: Lunch at the Royal Dragon kosher chinese restaurant in Rockville followed by a Mikvah tour. Carpools will be arranged. Watch for a flyer soon. For more information contact Sherry Lowe.
    • February 29: Take a leap with Sisterhood and join us at our Leap Year Brunch. Watch for an upcoming flyer.

  • Religious School
    • There will be Junior Congregation on Saturday, February 21 from 9:30-11:30 in Rooms 13, 14, and 15. It will be followed by Kids Konversation at 11:45.
    • Come one, Come all to BSO's Purim Carnival, March 7 at Rosa Parks Middle School from 12-2:30 pm.
      • Volunteers are needed to help out at the silent auction tables, ticket sales, and booths. Please call the religious school office if you can help out.
      • Grades K-3 will have school that morning from 9:30-11:30 and then go to the carnival.
      • Grades 4-7 will not have school, but will attent the carnival with their families.
    • Grades K-1 will participate in Friday evening Shabbat services on February 27 at 7:30 pm.
    • Grade 6 will sponsor a Generations Fair on February 29th. Everyone is welcome to come browse through the individual displays at 10:30 am in the social hall.
    • Grade 5 will be leading the congregation in Shabbat morning service on March 6 at 9:15 am. A letter with information regarding the service and a rehearsal was sent home requiring parents of Grade 5 students to return a tear-off form to the religious school office.
    • Jewish National Fund Tree Certificate purchases are due in the Religious School office on March 14th.
      HOLD THE DATE! Passover University is March 28th. Catalogues will be sent home with students on February 29 and available in the religious school office and school entrance.

  • Youth Programs - All events are FREE to Youth Group Members
    • Bonim making Mishloach Manot to send to Jewish US Soldiers, Sunday February 22, 3:00-4:30pm at the home of Debbie Kovalsky, call 301-570-2332
    • Kadimah Not So Formal Shabbat Dinner, 2/20 @ 6:00pm; Spring Kadimah Kallah March 12-14
